I Hate Crashing

I stacked it last night on the group ride. Trying to get faster without racing requires logging time at the local group ride. Last night someone laid their bike down in front of me and I ended up in the ditch. Crashing sucks; looks like it might be time to shave the legs.

Anyone still reading this?

New Blog

Martha and I have been toying with new blog possibilities; we should be unleashing it soon. In the meantime, this is what has been consuming our days (and nights) for the last 7 months:

I scouted Turkeys last night. Turkey (hunting) season starts tomorrow and I hope to slay one. In order to slay one, it requires a 3:30 am alarm, a 4:00 am hike, some quality hen calls, lots of luck and a 12 gauge. Horrified yet? And you thought I would miss bike racing?

So last night I tromped around the woods hooting like an owl trying to get Turkey’s to gobble before the roosted for the evening. It was a pretty wild experience. I am pretty sure Martha was horrified when I came home all decked out in camo.

For those of you keeping track, Martha is still pregnant. 30 weeks to be exact. 10 more to go. Trust me when I tell you, she will be happy when the kiddo arrives or more specifically vacates her belly.

The name game has begun. We are VERY far apart. Anyone have any suggestions?

My ass is killing me.
Yesterday was day 2 on the bike this week. I now have 3.5 hours since last Thanksgiving. Beat that.

Last night I rode Bear Claw (Franconia) with a bunch of locals. Tons of blow downs and crap on the trail but we got it cleared and had a good ride. I was pretty sloppy, but it was nice to get out, see some folks and remember what it was like to turn the pedals.

Skied at Wildcat last weekend. It was epic. Heading there again this weekend.

That’s all.

My blog is due for an overhaul. I have said it before. I will say it again.

I have stumbled across several cool blogs this week and thought I should share them (beats listening to me tell you I have nothing to write about). That is if anyone still stops by here. I am sure most have filed this address under the “doesn’t blog anymore” category. Anyway. The first one is The Cleanest Line. Patagonia has done it again. I dig just about everything to do with this company. Blog now included. The second is from Conor Hurley’s crazy adventures this winter. The writing is great and the adventure is even better.
